Report: Huawei to launch contactless payment in Russia from Apr 10

MOSCOW, Apr 2 (PRIME) -- Chinese tech giant Huawei will launch a service of contactless payment, Koshelyok Pay, or Wallet Pay, on its smartphones from April 10, business daily Kommersant reported on Thursday on its website, citing the company.

The service will be preinstalled on smartphones of the series Huawei P40 and later on all models on the Russian market.

St. Petersburg-based firm CardsMobile designed the service and is developing an application to store bank and discount cards Koshelyok, which has 12 million registered citizens.

It is an important step for Huawei in creation of a local ecosystem on the Russian market, the company’s President in Russia Leo Li said.
